Block foundation build and repair
Block Foundation is typically constructed of large blocks typically measuring 8 inches wide and 16 inches long, but can vary in sizes depending on the weight load of the building being constructed, and is then secured with mortar and rests on a concrete footing deep enough and wide.
Interlocking
To ensure optimum strength and stability, the blocks are fixed like bricks, using an overlapping pattern to interlock them, and then secured with re-bar and mortar mix to the footing.
Concrete Block is sound, temperature and pest proof!
It is a straightforward installation with typically no complex heavy forms to configure prior to assembly. Concrete block is unaffected by termites and other pests, resistant to extreme temperatures and is effectively soundproof, depending on construction quality. Concrete blocks also provide insulation against cold and heat and may reduce a home's energy usage.
